New Braunfels Mobile Physical Therapy

A NEW MODEL OF PHYSICAL THERAPY

New Braunfels Mobile PT was created to provide a much-needed physical therapy service in the Greater New Braunfels area.  This service allows us to provide expert, individualized physical therapy in your home or office, covered by insurance, without the need to be homebound. You can avoid the hassle of driving to a clinic or the frustration of arranging for transportation.

Mobile physical therapy allows you to work one-on-one with the same physical therapist throughout your care.  No more seeing multiple therapists, therapy assistants or exercise technicians.  Just you and your therapist without the distractions of a busy clinic.

MOBILE PT  VS.  HOME HEALTH PT

home PT1.jpg

Home Health Physical Therapy requires the patient to be homebound and is billed through Medicare part A. Home Health PT is for patients who need substantial assistance due to coming out of the hospital, after surgery, or at high risk of falls.  Typically, these patients need assistance with ambulation and transfers, cannot leave the home without assistance, and require an assistive device such as a walker at all times.  Home Health PT will focus on keeping the patient safe in their home, and will usually consist of training in patient transfer, bed mobility, basic exercises, and gait training with an assistive device for safety.  Some exercises may consist of seated exercises or exercises at the kitchen sink.

Mobile Physical Therapy has no requirement for the patient to be homebound, and these services are billed just like any outpatient physical therapy clinic through part B Medicare or other accepted insurance.   Mobile PT is for any patient that may not be considered homebound or would benefit from a higher level of physical therapy.  This can include therapy following Home Health PT or post-surgical rehab and is for any patient wanting to improve balance and strength or reduce pain and get back to doing activities they love at a higher level.

The evaluation will focus on the patient’s unique needs.  Treatments can include manual therapies and dry needling for pain, specific exercises based on the individual presentation, and specific balance training based on individual deficiencies.  The evaluation and treatment range from general and lower-level treatments to more specific orthopedic and neurological evaluations and higher-level and more specific treatment.
